Netball Samoa
Tifaimoana Samoa have secured qualification for the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney after completing an unbeaten run through the qualifying tournament.
Samoa sealed their place at the tournament with three wins over Papua New Guinea, Fiji and the Cook Islands.
They opened their campaign with a 72-56 victory over Papua New Guinea before defeating the Fiji Pearls 56-50.
Samoa then confirmed their qualification with a commanding 72-50 win over the Cook Islands on Thursday night.
Tifaimoana Samoa will face Pacific rivals Tonga Tala in their final match of the tournament tomorrow.
Tonga, the host nation, had already secured its World Cup place after defeating Fiji, setting up a clash between the tournament’s two unbeaten sides.
The qualification marks Samoa’s return to the Netball World Cup after missing the previous edition.
It will be Samoa’s ninth overall appearance at the Netball World Cup, with the 2027 tournament to be held in Sydney, Australia.
Samoa will now look to finish the qualifying campaign with another strong performance against Tonga.
