The village of Lepea is against any plans to review the law in order to allow for same sex marriage in Samoa.
The Lepea village elders have even gone to the extent of putting out a public notice on Television One on Thursday last week to announce their intentions.
Newsline was unable to get an interview with the paramount chief of Lepea Faumuina Le Tupufia Opapo Soanai Oeti who signed up the notice.
The village council notice stated that in raising this issue they are expressing their rights on freedom of expression as guaranteed under the Constitution of Samoa.
The village council calls on the people of Samoa to stand together on this matter for it is the Word of God and must be protected.
According to the notice the village council strongly advises the Prime Minister, Parliament and leaders of political parties to distance themselves from discussing or considering any law allowing same sex marriage for it will shatter the Constitution of Samoa which is founded on Christian beliefs and values.
The village council calls on Samoa to rise and close the door to this pagan ways so that the wrath of God will not come upon Samoa.
The village council made references to what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah cities in the Bible which were obliterated from the face of the earth for the sinful behaviour such as immorality and homosexual acts of its residents.
God should not be tempted for our constitution is founded on God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit the notice reads.
The village council called on everyone to stand together with the Lepea village for the Word of God that the Bible has taught us.
