Ban on social media is sad if it happens.  It’s a phenomenon that responds to the outcry for freedom of expression.

Yes of course the formal media led the crusade for it to happen but it was for a better and worthy cause against unfair suppression of public opinion.

Social media is the answer to the outcry not just by the media but the general public.

But as we have all now discovered, much is to be regretted since the shackles of constraints on the right to express freely were removed.

The one rotten fly in the oil of freedom of expression is called ‘abuse’.

With formal media there are rules and boundaries not to overstep so as to maintain core human values of decency and respect.

The freedom in social media to interact within the boundaries of acceptable behaviour is there.

The sharing of views and opinions expand the intellect and generate better understanding that should make better people of us all… with positive and constructive exchanges.

But and butt….it’s all spoilt by that 5-letter word ‘abuse.’

So now the powers that be are looking into shutting social media down. How sad and depressing if that happens.

Why not do what our funny man Tofiga said! “No don’t turn it off turn it down.”

How do we do that?  Good question.  With a simple press of the button ‘ban user’. Do that and you slam the door on abusers in your page.

If every decent loving individual do that on users who swear, defame or come across as a low life bringing filth into a healthy sharing of the mind, we become the solution to the ‘abuse’ on social media.

It’s very very simple! Press the ‘ban user’ button. Do it.

“ …..have to agree with you on this one, dear
