So much for social distancing now that the ban is lifted on all sports including our favourite…rugby.

Social distancing is always going to be hard to police. We all know and are ready to accept that but sometimes it’s just not possible. In fact it can be downright ridiculous in some cases.

Sports are now allowed to start up again but with stern reminders to each sporting body to practice social distancing.

Maybe that will work in the dressing rooms or under the tree shades where many of our team players change into their sporting uniforms.

The same can also be applied after a game. But for crying out loud how can social distancing work when you’re playing?

Maybe in a contact sport it is good when bodies do get to smash against each other. Surely any virus will be flattened out of this world when bodies collide in force.

There is only one problem. There are viruses that cleverly hide in some dark spot on the body where even the sun light cannot reach – they’ll do the damage.

Maybe that is better left to the doctors to answer. Still if social distancing will help protect us from the virus then we should try.

“….will it help if we spray insecticide where the sun doesn’t reach, dear?
