As the country recovers from the excesses of White Sunday and the weeklong rush to orgnise this special day for children, next up will be the big one, Christmas and New Year.

The colour white caught the eye easily around the country, especially in the morning and late afternoon yesterday, as the children made their way to church.

Toting parents did their chaperoning duties to keep the excited children in control, most wearing new Sunday whites freshly brought from the week’s shopping.

At the New Wine Church at Fugalei, the children were all over the place performing items as proud parents looked on.

The younger ones playfully roaming the stage brought laughter to the congregation as ‘children being children.’

A quick, late afternoon drive along the east coast of Apia saw children and their elders on the side of the road making their way home at the end of the day’s final church service.

The scene was common everywhere in and outside Apia as dusk started to settle in on the white glow of the day.

Christmas is still a few weeks away, time enough for parents to catch their White Sunday breath before the hectic pace of the festive season catches up.
