Grownups in their mid-50s to late 80s are becoming the early targets of the COVID 19 death run since the pandemic virus spread into the local community close to four weeks now.
The official 7 deaths related to COVID 19 so far are, (2) 87 year olds, (1) 74 year old, (1) 69 year old, (1) 67 year old, (1) 59 year old, (1) 56 year old.
The most vulnerable gender in the current death count are men with all except the 87 year old woman from Savaii to have died.
The accuracy of the age and death rate analysis is based on the official count by the Ministry of Health under the disclaimer that it is ‘subject to change following full verification of all reported COVID-19 deaths.’
The more recent count in age group categories testing positive for the virus showed noticeable jumps for those in the early 50s and 65 years and above.
The highest categories are between the 15 -44 year olds.
New born babies 0-4 years old are following closely behind the 50-54 year olds and 65 and beyond infection rate.
Unofficial reports of babies under hospital intensive care and reportedly hooked to ventilators, are the worst to have been made public so far for the tender age group.
