Only a few more days remain before we go to the ballot boxes to choose the next Government that will shape our lives and livelihoods for the next five years.
The three major parties have done their campaigning.
It is now up to the voters to choose their Members of Parliament and the Party that they support.
There are also independent candidates funded by loans from a businessman, raising serious questions about whether his tax liabilities are being properly assessed.
This is a matter that tax administrators may need to review.
The question facing every voter is which candidate and party they can trust to represent them in Parliament.
The only honest answer to this question can be found in the candidate’s and their Party’s track record.
Have they been truthful, accountable and served the people? Or have they relied solely on lies and broken promises?
As the famous saying goes, “the present is determined by our past actions, and the future by the present.”
Human Rights Protection Party’s leaders stand proudly on our record of service to the nation over the past 40 years.
Faatuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasi and its leaders also have their record of three years and eight months in office before their government broke up.
The people will now evaluate our records.
Many have said, let us depend on God to show us the way.
In doing so, we believe that God has gifted us the soul, conscience and free will to choose between good and evil.
We therefore pray that God will guide us in choosing leaders who will take care of our children and the future of our nation.
God bless Samoa.
