The Court has ruled for the HRPP leader Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi and Secretary Lealailepule Rimoni Aiafi to return to Parliament.
The ruling was handed down today paving the return of the opposition MPs for the next House session on 18 October 2022.
“The decision has been a longtime coming and it should have been the ruling from the start,” Lealailepule reacted, reassured by what he believes is true justice served.
“God is just, and we give praise for His love and mercy.
“Our sincere and grateful appreciation to our supporters for their trust and belief in our innocence.”
Lealailepule did not want to go into too many details on the court ruling for now.
A press conference with the local media sometime this week is expected to expand on the wider impact of the ruling.
A looming question that is left to linger is whether the matter ends here.
Recent court rulings involving political matters have been criticized of tail ends left untied.
