The Tautua Samoa Party is standing firm on the strength of its own political convictions rather than be dragged into a coalition to challenge the 2021 General Elections.
The party officially released its election manifesto it believes will stand them well in the polling year.
Tautua President, Afualo Dr. Wood Salele, said the party was not established to go into coalition of parties.
“ We were approached by FAST and other political parties in their coalition for the Tautua to join them, but we have no interest in them,” Afualo said.
“When you set up a political party there is no need to look around you to see who is strong or weak.
“At Tautua we are doing the best on what we believe in based on our own political beliefs.”
Afualo said members of the party are unwavering in their own political independence rather than have their identity buried under a coalition.
He said the members are eager to prove they can stand on their own.
“We want to show the country we are capable of doing what we believe is the best for everyone.
“Our main focus is the quality of the candidates contesting the election under the Tautua Samoa banner.”
Afualo is not bothered by the Government HRPP party registration of more than a 100 candidates for the general elections.
He said former members who have defected to the coalition parties do not worry the Tautua as well.
Whatever party wins it is the choice from God, according to the Tautua Samoa leader.
