The Parliament Privileges and Ethics Committee is recommending suspension for 2 years of the opposition Human Rights Protection Party leader and General Secretary

The recommendation is to be tabled in the House today, Tuesday 18 October 2022, when Parliament is called to session.

Former PM Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi and veteran Lealailepule Rimoni Aiafi have been officially informed by letter of the intentions by the House select committee.

The opposition MPs are returning to Parliament today after an absence of several months, on an ‘indefinite suspension’ vote by the FAST Government dominated House.

A court ruling, however, outlawed the Parliament order allowing for the return of the suspended MPs today.
