New Electric Power Corporation, General Manager, Faumui Mr. Iese Toimoana is back where he first started his young working career after graduating with a New Zealand Certificate from a 1994 study scholarship .
Faumui was with the state corporation briefly on his return from New Zealand before he was again sent for more overseas tertiary education.
This time he ended up in Australia where he returned with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Once again he was with the EPC for a short spell before he was off once more on more scholarship studies in Australia.
This time he returned with a Masters in Science Degree and was elevated soon enough to be responsible for a host of senior EPC projects.

He was also in charge of putting together a solar system on the island of Apolima to provide families with electricity power.
This time he served at home a little longer until he decided to spread his wings out into the region.
In 2009 he was contracted for a 3-year term as a regional adviser for renewable energy in the region based in Fiji.
His job was to advise island countries of energy systems more suited to their needs and also to look for funding to cover project costs.
Faumui served out his contract before he returned to EPC in 2012 as manager of network distribution and utilization.
His other responsibilities were to oversee quality assurances for electricity developments.
He remained with the Corporation until 2015 when he linked up with the Samoa Water Authority as the urban division manager responsible for the heavily populated town area.
Cabinet confirmed his top executive position as EPC General Manager last week where at 53 years old is back on familiar grounds where it all started many years ago.
“ Every calling is from God and I am honoured to take up the job,” Faumui told Newsline Samoa.
“I wish to acknowledge the contribution over the years by the outgoing general manager, Tologata Tile Tuimaleali’ifano, and wish him success in his future endeavours.”
Tologata is hoping to make the transition into politics if successful as a candidate in the upcoming general elections.
Faumui is from villages of Vaiala, Faleasi’u and Fagaloa is expected to move into his new job by the end of this month October.
