Several hundred people who missed out on their $50 tala stimulus package money crowded the EFKS Youth Hall, Sogi, to collect their money.
These are people who were not at home when the group of pre-census and national ID cars enumerators came around.
Most were at work while others were committed elsewhere on the day.
Surveyors in Upolu were concentrated mostly around urban Apia for the first week just ended.
The work will continue for the next two weeks with 15 of the group teams assigned to the more populated Upolu and the other 5 working in Savai’i.
The pre-census survey is in preparations for the next national population census scheduled for next year.
The population count for Samoa is carried out after every 5-year interval.
The national ID cards has been in the planning for some time and part of the work by the surveying teams is taking photos of every individual including babies.
