The MS Nautica has become the first cruise ship to visit Samoa for 2024.
The passenger liner docked at the Matautu-tai Wharf this morning, Tuesday 16 January 2024.
Onboard were 576 holiday makers, under the care of 391 crew members.
The close to one thousand arrivals have started off the count over the next 12 months of sea voyaging tourists.
The cruise ship sailed into the Apia Port from Suva, Fiji, with mostly American travellers.
The visitors were able to see the island either while on organised tours of the countryside or to selected tourist attractions.
Others were seen on stroll from the wharf along the seawall and the length of Apia, before tottering back to the ship.
The MS Nautica sailed off for Bora Bora in Tahiti at the end of the day.
The Samoa Visitors Authority, STA, is anticipating a busy year for holiday sea voyages with 26 confirmed cruise ship arrivals up to the end of the year in December.
The schedule trips are subject to changes.
