Take a closer look at the red circled swing ropes in this photo. This was seen at the popular Malaefatu Park children swings at Sogi.
Hopefully the people responsible for the park’s safety maintenance are seeing this too.
One of the ropes is badly frayed and appears seriously at risk of snapping off under the weight of children playing on the swing.
While the second rope looks basically intact, it is starting to show signs of wear and tear too.
A comparison between the two swing ropes gives a fairly good idea of how the damaged rope needs urgent replacement.
Maybe it’s time for the park owners to heed the caution and care call.
