For the politicians in Upolu, it’s a simple matter of jumping in your car and driving out to the villages.
Different story for the Savai’i crowd with a ‘car-boat-car’ arrangement. When you’re hoping in and out of your car or the Lady Samoa, there’s a good chance of being seen along the way.
But it’s not just the current MPs you’ll get to see. There’ll be ex-MPs as well going to the villages for the same reasons.
There’s another added crowd set also – the party campaigners and entourage of ‘hangers on.’ Whoever is paying for their travel costs is hardly a mystery.
