Returning Samoans and New Zealand based travelers made up more than half the arrivals at Faleolo International Airport since the reopening of international borders for the first month just ended in August 2022.

The Samoa Bureau of Statistics recorded 9456 visitors from 7 main travel origins mostly within the island region.

Most arrived from New Zealand with an overall total of 3806 passport holders compared to 2825 returning Samoans at second place.

Australia, Fiji, and American Samoa made up a total of 1332 arrivals for the period.

Other notable travel origins for the arrivals were the USA with 658, China 142 and Others 693.

Normal activities at the airport terminal are basically returning to pre-Covid 19 pace once again at the departure and arrival lounges.
