After training in earnest for the upcoming Teuila Festival fautasi race the organisers announced during the week that it was canceled.
Teuila is basically a tourism event to attract holidaying visitors. Our tourism industry is desperately in need to grind back into life to survive.
Unfortunately our border control restrictions are still in place as part of the lockdown in response to the corona virus pandemic.
Highly unlikely our festival will bring in much needed tourists. Still it would have been a good distraction to have the fautasi out at sea churning up the thrill of competition once again.
Our fautasi racers will just have to live to race another day.
