Dear Oh Dear …awash in cash for what’s that again?
So if we have 200 thousand people in Samoa, how much hard cash will we be flooded with in August when they start paying out $50 for each person?
Let’s work it out. Multiply 200,000 x $50 = $10 million tala – a lot of tala for sure.
Okay so we can understand the political doubters protest of election campaign money.
Just remember this is stimulus package money. Family of 5 gets $250. Faifeau gets $100 for his alofa and the rest goes into shopping and the rest into family travels.
Overall the $10m tala is spread around to keep the faifeau going so he can pray to bless the congregation families with more tala.
The shops can afford to order more goods, pay the staff and keep them on the payroll.
Buses and taxis keep going, petrol stations have their gas money and people can afford to travel to work, church and much more.
Farmers have their share from selling produce the same as the supermarkets.
Before the end of the month the stimulus package cash handout have spread far and wide in Samoa.
When we follow the money trail, the bottom line people is that the money helps with the bad times we are currently going through.
“…. it’s bottom line not bottoms up, dear
