The Vaimea Primary School’s brightest student of 2021 wants to become a teacher as a career profession.
Her career choice is based on watching and admiring the teachers in school.
Tapita Tanielu has been a top student in all her eight years that officially came to an end with the school prize giving this week on Tuesday where she received the award for top student of the year.
Her leadership qualities were recognized also as the Primary School head girl prefect.
Tanielu credits her school success to parents who doted on her and her schooling.
“My mother takes me to school and waited all day to take me home afterwards, even to this day at my age,” she acknowledged.
“Even at home I’m sitting with my books most of the time with little time for chores.”
Tanielu is one of the school’s record 9 students who made the school proud by passing the entrance exam to the prestigious Government top secondary school at Samoa College.
Vaimea Primary school has as school roll of close to one thousand students evenly divided between boys and girls.
The students enroll from many of the urban residential villages close by at Taufusi, Sogi, Alamagoto, Lalovaea, Moamoa, Sinamoga, Lotopa, Se’ese’e and more.
The school breaks for the holiday season this week on Thursday.
