The Tama Aga paramount chief Tui Atua, Tupua Tamasese Efi, is among an historic gathering this week of traditional leaders from New Zealand, Fiji and Hawai’i to…”reignite ancestral ties and lay the groundwork for the inaugural Pacific Traditional Leaders Forum 2024.

Included in the discussions is the 13th Festival of Pacific arts and Culture in Honolulu, Hawai’i, from June 6-16 and the…”significance of traditional leaders engagement in the festival.”

Tui Atua joins traditional Maori royals, Kingi Tuheitia Potato and Te Wherowhero VII.

The gathering is hosted in Fiji by the Paramount Chief of the island of Bau, Turagna na Vunivalu na Tui Kaba, Ratu Epenisa Cakobau.

“Also in attendance with the blessing and endorsement of HRH Prince David Kaumuali’i Kawananakoa, is a Hawai’i delegation.

The gathering will be looking into “defining the objectives, roles  and protocols, as well as deliberating on the importance of the platforms for traditional leaders in fostering cultural exchange and mutual understanding.”
