The Samoa National Provident Fund’s planned birthday celebratios scheduled to start next Monday 21 March 2022 is forced to be put on hold for now.

The Fund planned to start a weeklong series of events to mark its Golden Jubilee anniversary with surprise gift benefits for members and more until the unexpected turn of events.

A firm date of celebrations will be determined by what the future holds with the COVID lockdowns.

A massive ‘search and find’ exercise is underway in the coming days on how far the COVID virus has breached the health security in the country.

The Prime Minister Fiame admitted in announcing the health security lockdowns that it was a major  undertaking but was too early to tell the full duration of the work.

Another priority setback likely to emerge from the enforcing of these new health protection measures are hopes by the Government to lift international travel borders.

The emergency committee NEOC is also tasked with coming up with recommendations on how to make it possible for Samoa to live with the CVOID virus.
