The sudden death of Detective Sergeant Peniamina Perite today, has left the Ministry of Police and Prison in shock and are mourning his passing.

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the Samoa Police. Prisons & Corrections Services (SPPCS) announces the sudden passing of Detective Sergeant Peniamina Perite.
His unexpected death today from a gunshot wound, sustained while executing an arrest of a suspect in a murder case reported to police on Sunday night, has left our entire organization and community in profound sorrow.
Detective Sergeant was a dedicated and exemplary officer who served the SPPCS with distinction, honor, and unwavering commitment.
His contributions to law enforcement in Samoa have been invaluable, and his absence will be deeply felt by his colleagues, friends, and the wider community.
Throughout his distinguished career, Detective Sergeant demonstrated exceptional skill, integrity, and dedication to duty.
He was not only a respected member of our force but also a mentor and friend to many. His commitment to justice and his compassionate approach to policing earned him the admiration and respect of all who had the privilege of working with
him.
Samoa Police are working closely with the village of Fasitoo-Uta to locate the suspect, who is currently on the run.
We assure the public that every effort is being made to bring the perpetrator to justice and ensure the safety of our community.
