A group of 9 hotels in Savaii are opening their doors for holidaymakers to the big island to enjoy their stay under their Talimalo’ hospitality offer.
“Talimalo’ is the simple term for the reknowned Samoan hospitality that the Savaii hoteliers are keen to impress the holidaymakers with as their guests .
“Talimalo’ has always been part of our culture of hospitality and service to welcome our traveling guests and make them feel at home,” Va’aelua Mr. Fa’apoipoi Gidlow, President of the Savaii, Tourismm Association assured.
The Savaii hotels ‘Talimalo’ promise was made at an official launching organised at the Amaoa Resort, Faga, Savaii, on Monday.
The Samoa Tourism Authority, STA, is firmly behind the hotels collective offer for the local holidaymakers as the main target heading to Savaii mainly from Upolu.
‘Talimalo’ continues the determined push, spearheaded by the Samoa Tourism Authority, to fire up the local market in direct response to the very damaging impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
The once bustling national tourism industry, and the second revenue earner for Samoa after private remittances, is at a standstill.
All international travels into Samoa both air and sea, are on lockdown with the closure of national borders for health security protection against the spread of the cornavirus pandemic.
“In these difficult times, I hope and pray it will be short lived, we can only look inward to our local market to fill the void, and the challenge is for us as operators to create attractive conditions including affordable packages to entice our locals to book,” Vaaelua appealed.
“Let us continue to work as one and bring out the best in everyone and make this campaign a success.
“The timing is perfect – the holiday season is upon us.”
Amoa Resort , Jet Over, Bayview Resort, Tailua Beach Fales, Janes Beach Fales, Stevensons, Vaimoana , Falealupo Beach Fales, and Rosalote are rolling out the welcoming mat to all the holiday makers under ‘Talimalo.’
The invitation for any other hotels on the island to join the promotion is still open and will continue to February in the New Year.
