Samoa’s flag will be flying at this year’s World Sailing Youth Worlds competition in the Netherlands. Samoa will be represented by sixteen year old sailor Elizabeth Rasch of Saoluafata and Lalomalava, Savaii.
The Apia Yacht Club sailor has been sailing for the last five years, and has been training for the past few months in order to represent Samoa in the Emerging Nations Program training and the Laser Youth Worlds Championships, at the Hague, Netherlands.
Sailor Elizabeth Rasch, a student of Robert Louis Stevenson School, is being supported by World Sailing via it’s Emerging Nations Program, also, by her local club, Apia Yacht Club and Samoa Sailing Association.
Club Commodore, Seiuli Ian Black also acknowledges the “sponsorship, over the past few years, by Transam Samoa, and National Bank of Samoa, of the Junior Sailing Development programs, to enable our young sailors, such as “Elle” to develop towards this goal.”
“We thank our Corporate partners for their support to develop Junior sailing.”, says Commodore Seiuli.
Ms. Rasch left for the Laser Youth Worlds last weekend.
