A monthly breakfast amongst friends was the scene of a joyous occasion where SAT$10,000 was gifted to the Mapu i Pulotu Home for the Elderly in Savaii. Samoa La’ala’a, a walking group comprising close friends, decided during their regular morning walks that it would be a great idea to fundraise for the newly developed Mapu i Pulotu Aged Care Home for the Elderly.  The donation will go towards assisting Mapu i Pulotu construction, in its efforts to ensure aged care services are provided to the elderly of Savaii without having to come to Upolu to Mapuifagalele. Samoa La’ala’a was formed in 2000 by a group of friends committed to health and well-being and are stepping up their charitable works in these COVID 19 times.

The cheque for $10,000 was gifted to Mapu i Pulotu representative Leatigaga Peni Tofa  by the Minister for Women, Community, and Social Development, the Honorable Leota Laki Lamositele-Sio, who is a member of the Samoa La’ala’a group, at a breakfast at the Hotel Elisa. Commenting on the importance of their donation, the Minister stated that the donation is a reflection of the group’s aspiration to help the vulnerable people of our communities. Thanking the Samoa La’ala’a, the Mapu-i-Pulotu representative acknowledged the group by becoming partners for this important project and wishing them continued wellbeing for its members.

Samoa La’ala’a wishes to thank all the organizations, agencies, and individuals who donated and contributed to our efforts for this worthy cause and we look forward to your ongoing support.
