Busy intersection along the main east coat road at the Matautu-uta 4-corners

The Matautu-uta 4-corners may end up with either traffic lights or a roundabout if needed on the increasingly busy road intersection
MP Lenata’i Victor Tamapua, wants a study taken for the best option, when he raised the issue last week in Parliament
The 4-corners intersection is located inside his Vaimauga 2 electoral constituency.
The Minister of Work Olo Vaai appears to favour a roundabout, similar to one already in place next to the Vaisigano Bridge.
This is the section of the road where one continues on to the Matautu-tai wharf.
The other takes a turn out to Matautu-uta to start off the main road along the east coast.
“The Vaisigano roundabout seems to be working well with hardly any traffic hold ups,” Works Minister Olo responded to the MP.
The Minister did not mention any plans in place or a time for such an undertaking to go ahead.
He did assured it will be looked into if warranted.
Road upgrade work are underway in many sections of the urban road network in preparation for the upcoming CHOGM in October.
