Gusting winds, rain and rough seas are making ferry travel unpredictable this week between the Mulifanua and Salelologa wharves.
The Samoa Shipping Corporation is very careful monitoring the weather and travel conditions at both ends before deciding.
The uncertain wait if or not there is any boat going is not leaving many of the travelers in any jolly, festive mood.
The normal early morning run yesterday at 6.00am on Wednesday morning was delayed until an hour later because of unsafe conditions.
All schedule sailings for the day were finally called off by rough weather at the Savaii end.
Schedule sailings for today, Thursday, are being carefully monitored based on how the weather turns out.
The Samoa Shipping Corporation emphasis on safety is normal in difficult sailing conditions.
What they would dread is the poor weather continuing into the hectic holiday season coming up in about two weeks’ time.
Huge crowds may end up stranded on both ends waiting for the weather to clear and the ‘boats’ to start running again.
