A record 400 students graduated studies at the end of this school year under the Technical Vocational Education and Training programme TVET.
The Samoa Qualifications Authority co-ordinates the fields of training for the programme in Plumbing, Welding, Maritime, Tourism and Hospitality, Carpentry and more.
The most number of graduates under TVET studies range from between 200-300 students a year with certificates and diplomas in their selected field of vocational learning.
A radio and electronics graduate, Charles Falevao, echoed the rewarding reaction from the others who tasted the sweet success in their respective fields.
“There were many challenges for me to get here and it is a dream feeling to finally succeed and take up working opportunity in this line of work,” the radio and electronics graduate celebrated.
SQA Chief Executive Officer, Leali’ifano Esther Manila, congratulated the graduates for their hard work with a special understanding of the challenges they went through.
She also urged parents to always encourage their children not to give up on their education and to stand by them all the way.
Parents and students attended the TVET graduation at the National University of Samoa gymnasium at the Le Papaigalagala Campus.
