No official confirmation has come through yet of reports starting to circulate that the Head of State His Highness Tuimaleali’ifano Va’aleto’a Sualauvi II is to decide whether to call new general elections or not.
His Highness reportedly met with the leaders of the HRPP and FAST political parties this morning.
Yet to be officially confirmed too is if or when His Highness will make any official announcement of his decision.
The Head of State is empowered by law to call for new general elections if required.
Both political parties are in a 26-seat deadlock following the recent general elections.
