SVSG ROYAL PATRON : Her Majesty Queen Camilla when in Samoa for CHOGM 2024 and while on a royal tour to the SVSG headquarters escorted by the association President Siliniu Lina Chang.

Her Majesty Queen Camilla, has officially become a Royal Patron of the Samoa Victim Support Organisation, SVSG.

Confirmation came yesterday in a letter sent directly from Buckingham Palace in London, formally notifying the organization.  

Her Majesty chose to officially announce her royal agreement on the occasion of His Majesty King Charles’s 77th birthday, celebrated today, 14 November.

SVSG President Lina Chang celebrated the historic announcement  with humility 

The British High Commission in Apia hosted a special event at the Sheraton Hotel to His Majesty’s 77th birthday, where the Queen’s patronage of SVSG was formally announced.

“SVSG is honoured by the patronage as a significant royal recognition,” a statement from the local service organisation highlighted.

The Royal Family supports over 3,000 organizations worldwide and SVSG is feeling deeply grateful to be included amongst them.

SVSG President Lina Chang expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for this historic and unexpected blessing.

The occasion was celebrated as a royal honour at a time when SVSG’s service to Samoa was marking its 20th anniversary of service this year.

Vulnerable children, women, and persons with disabilities underlines the service emphasis by SVSG.

“This patronage will advance new partnerships and engagement between the Royal Family and SVSG during the two-year tenure,” the statement from the local organisation acknowledged. 

“It is a profound privilege for SVSG, as the only shelter provider for vulnerable people in the small island state of Samoa, to receive such distinguished recognition.

“SVSG sends heartfelt birthday wishes to His Majesty King Charles on his 77th birthday. 

“From the children at the Campus of Hope and the SVSG Aiga in Samoa, the message expresses gratitude for his leadership and celebrates his enduring service, wishing him joy, health, and continued blessings.”
