Sudden power cuts are not always welcome surprises for any residential area.

We had a lot of that around several urban locations in the Apia township area a while back.

Our EPC folks were left in a rush with their ladders to clamber up power poles to trace and repair the fault quickly.

Scenes like this one as seen here were common at the time.

But while in this particular fault the urgency was not obvious, it is always a reassuring relief to see these linesmen at work.

It seemingly guarantees that electricity will be restored. Always does.

Ancient tottering power generators that died of natural causes are a different story. The most effective way to fix that problem is to buy brand new ones.

Our recent run of power cuts was finally stablised when new equipment arrived and installed.

The sighs of relief when the power cuts were finally overcome was electric.
