Police has appealed for any information from the general public on the group beating of a teenage boy circulated widely on a video clip on social media.
The visual quality of the recording was dark and badly blurred but the teenager appeared to be tied up around the legs while on the ground.
He could be heard pleading with his assailants for mercy. In the final seconds of the video he was seen assaulted while back up on his feet.
Police spokesman Aupaau Logoitino Filipo confirmed that they are already aware of the video clip but there has been no official complaints made of the alleged beating.
“We need the support of the public with any information they can give us and especially the family of the teenager to come forward,” Aupaau told Newsline Samoa.
He also put to rest alleged claims that the 19-year-old teenage male who died at the weekend from Fiaga had no connection with the one in the video.
“ The Fiaga violence has led to the arrest of two suspects charged with murder.”
Aupaau also confirmed that preliminary investigations showed the deceased suffered fatal injury on his head and body.
The deceased was reportedly with his friends drinking alcohol on Saturday night and that the incident was reported on Sunday morning.
