A police official investigation into illegal road blocks on public roads in Savaii last Thursday is underway.
The road blocks included the ones at the villages of Salelologa and Sasina and reportedly from other villages on the day.
The roadblocks were intended to prevent a political rally motorcade organised by the opposition Human Rights Protection Party.
The road block at Salelologa forced the procession of vehicles carrying both men and women supporters of the Human Rights Protection Party HRPP to turn around.
The leader of the HRPP and former Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi was included amongst the travellers.
The planned run around Savaii was called off for safety reasons with a police escort monitoring the situation carefully as well as advising the leaders of the motorcade.
A social media video stream confirmed the Sasina village roadblock that eventually forced the organisers of the motorcade to call off the moving rally.
The social media video stream showed an orator of the village of Sasina with a group of men making a speech addressing the HRPP saying they were awaiting the arrival of the motorcade.
Deputy Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo said the Police at Fagamalo were told to check out whether there was a roadblock there but Police found none.
Auapaau however said that there is a video taken by the village which recorded all their actions taken that day.
The deputy Commissioner confirmed the investigation is already underway and every piece of evidence will be looked at.
Police photos taken by police along with video clips by the members of the public will be scrutinized.
“ The Ministry has downloaded everything to be found online for our investigation, “ Auapaau said.
“ We will look into all the road blocks done on the public road and all other actions taken that day seen as breaking the law.”
Aupaau confirmed that legal actions will be taken in keeping with the law after they have finalised their investigations.
