Police is not revealing the identity of the man who allegedly cheated 20 people in a scam under the seasonal workers scheme.
The man is alleged to have obtained money from people wishing to work to prepare documents such as applications, visas and passports so they could work in Australia and New Zealand under the Seasonal Workers Scheme.
The 20 people reportedly cheated turned up at the airport last Tuesday to take a scheduled flight but found there was none and so they reported the matter to Police.
More than $10,000 were allegedly paid per person in addition to fees for medical and police reports.
Acting Police Commissioner Auapaau Logotino Filipo confirmed to Newsline Samoa that the identity of the person could not be revealed pending investigation and he could be charged for theft and fraud.
He also confirmed that complaints have been filed against the accused but could not confirm if all 20 people have lodged complaints.
