….lust as well the normal traffic speed on the main streets of Apia are not as fast as it would be on an open road like along the west coast to the Faleolo International Airport.
Open truck carrying a combination of scrap metal, wired rubbish containers, bags and other assortment of debris as seen here could create issues.
This truck’s load is being tied down by thin ropes as it travels along the Malifa-Taufusi section of the road, luckily at slow speed.
Traffic lights and congested road helps to keep it moving along slowly which helps to keep its loose cargo at the back from slipping and sliding off the back.
Open trucks carrying loads loosely at the back is not a new sight for our urban roads.
Many of the times they are on their way to a rubbish landfill to unload. Still it does catch the attention whenever they are seen on the road or when we’re driving next to it.
For now it’s not a big issue. Hopefully it remains that way.
