….. harmony of culture and the law at work. It was a little while back when a situation that involved a village brought in the force of the law when the police moved in to investigate and uphold peace and order in the community.
The threat of hostility towards the police while carrying out their investigations led to this sit down moment with the traditional authority of the chiefs and orators of the village.
The unique blending of the cultural authority and the official law enforced by the police is at play here.
The workload is shared to ensure law and order are maintained.
The concerns on both sides were raised and with the blessings of the village leaders the police were able to continue their work without the threats they had first encountered to their safety from the community.
