….. Youth street fights in the busy sections of town reared up again during the week.  This time it was at Savalalo on the heavily travelled run from Beach Road out to Fugalei and the Vaimoso intersection.

Luckily the police motorcycle squad responded quickly and diffused the angry environment before the emotions spilled into youth violence.

What incited this young crowd is unclear but the police sat them down and put the fear of the law into them.  As soon as they were cooled down enough they were allowed to make their way home.

Street violence is not new for the youth in central Apia.    The flea market/bus depot at Savalalo is one of the hot spots for youth violence outbreaks.

Police struggled with the problem a while back until they resorted to serious tactics like locking the kids up or filing criminal charges against them for court appearances.

Keep it cool people.
