Weightlifting Golden boy Don Opeloge placed 6th in the IWF World Cup in Tianjin China.
The 20 year old also set a New Commonwealth and Oceania Record in the Clean & Jerk division by 20kg.
Coach Tuaopepe Jerry Wallwork said he is proud of Opeloge’s performance.
He added this will the champion lifters last tournament for this year.
Tuaopepe is confident of how the promising lifter has improved a lot in terms of his trainings and performance.
The aim is for him to keep climbing up until the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
“He has great potential to win medals next year.
“Some people might say that it is impossible but I have seen how he has improved in 12 months and I know how he will improve in the coming months.
“He has proven he can become a junior world champion and I think he can do it again for the seniors.”
