Police are on the chase after three male suspects following a weekend shooting that injured two police officers at Salelavalu village, Savaii.
The officers were members of a police team on an illegal drug raid at a marijuana plantation reported from the village.
Both were suffered pellet wounds when they were shot at by one of the suspects with a 12 gauge shot gun.
They were attended to at Tuasivi hospital and have since been discharged.
A statement on the police Facebook page said the drug raid followed a tip off from inside the Salelavalu village.
The police are being assisted by the traditional authority of chiefs and orators of Salelavalu to track down the suspects.
Photos and names of the suspects are circulated online with appeals from the police to the public for any information that will lead to their capture.
