The COVID 19 virus is out in the community in neighbouring American Samoa. .
The territory has gone into a one week Code Red lockdown announced on KVZK television last night.
American Samoa health officials told the media that family members of a frontline quarantine worker were tested positive for the virus.
The frontline worker is believed to have contracted the virus from the January 27th flight and 7 out of 8 of the family members are confirmed cases.
Online media outlet Talanei reported that some of the family members attended a church service in Leone but the identity of the church has not been disclosed.
Health officials in Apia have been keeping close watch on the announcement from the territory and are yet to react officially to the level of threat here.
Strict pandemic health restrictions in Samoa have successfully contained the COVID 19 virus from breaking out into the community.
