The future in Parliament of the 3 MPs who resigned from the HRPP opposition party is to be decided in the Supreme.

MPs Ale Vena Ale, Mau’u Siaosi Pulepulemai and Tuu’u Anasi’i rejected requirements under the Electoral Act for MPs to return to bi-elections on resignation from a political party.

Speaker Papali’i Taeu Masepa’u has referred the MPs matter to the Supreme Court for a ruling as the legal process to follow under the Electoral Act Parliament held its final session for 2022 today.
