Senior HRPP opposition, MP Tapunu’u Niko Lee Hang, is finally at rest.  His body was buried today, Tuesday 13 December 2022 at his home at Vailima.

The 63 year old Vaimauga #3 Parliamentarian died about a week ago at his home in the early hours of Tuesday morning from a terminal health condition.

HRPP opposition leader and former PM Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, gives eulogy on the political service of his former Cabinet Minister.

The Head of State, His Highness Tuimaleali’ifano Va’aleto’a Sualauvi II and Member of the Council of deputies, Le Mamea Ropati, attended the funeral services.

The deputy Prime Minister and Cabinet members, Speaker, opposition leader and other dignitaries joined the grieving family members for the final farewell.

MP Tapunu’u, started his political career in 2001 when he was elected one of the two MPs of the Individuals Vote.

He was a former Cabinet Minister on two separate occasions as Minister of Finance and Minister of Works.

His former boss and HRPP leader Tuilaepa spoke highly of the late Cabinet Minister and the quality of service he contributed during his lengthy service as a politician.

The late MP is survived by his wife Doris Young-Lee Hang and children.
