Moata’a village chiefs and orators are to honour His Majesty King Charles III with plans to bestow on him the honorary chiefly paramount title, Tui-Taumeisina.

The British Monarch will be in Samoa for the official opening of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, CHOGM, in about a weeks time.

His Majesty plans to take in the sights of the natural 20 acre mangrove reserve in the heart of the village as one of the selected sites lined up for a royal sightseeing tour of Samoa.

The presence of His Royal Highness inside Moata’a is being received as a great honour to the whole village and to all other neighbouring villages in the Vaimauga District.

 Plans for the chiefly title bestowal is in keeping with the established traditions of honour and respect in the national culture.

King Charles will be served a cup of ava to drink as part of the short bestowal ceremony planned for the official bestowal of the r Tui-Taumeisina paramount title.

  The royal tour of the reserved mangrove will then follow.
