For a second year in a row the MNRE Waste Management; Pollution Control Division has chosen SKYEYE VEHICLE TRACKING to help them manage and monitor Samoa’s waste disposal carried all around Upolu and Savaii.
This is a continuation of the Keep Samoa Clean project that was started with the help of donor funding from JICA. “Skyeye acknowledges ACEO Fuimaono Katenia Rasch for the vote of confidence in our tracking services” says Unasa Nomeneta Saili CTO for Skyeye.
The Rubbish collection monitoring system was established, as part of the Samoan activities of MNRE & JICA project, “Japanese Technical Cooperation Project for Promotion of Regional Initiative on Solid Waste Management in Pacific Island Countries Phase II（J-PRISM Ⅱ）”.
This occasion also marks the successful transition of the project that began as a collaboration with a development partner to being fully managed by a government ministry.

The contract renewal was signed at SKYEYE PACIFIC Headquarters at Lotopa on Thursday 11 th April 2024.
Senior officials from MNRE Waste Management Division led by Tofilau Fa’atamali’i Meredith represented MNRE whilst Skyeye Chief Technical Officer Unasa Nome Saili signed on behalf of SKYEYE PACIFIC. In attendance were the eight (8) service providers or contractors who will be servicing the different zones for waste collection on Upolu and Savaii.
SKYEYE congratulates Jaffa’s Sanitary Service, Apia Lua Ltd, Bluebird Construction, Jedstar Ltd, LA Painters, Pacific Recycle Ltd, Road Runners, and Tamalemau Ltd. on their successful bid to provide this service to Samoa.
The occasion also provided the opportunity for the parties to discuss issues and continue the dialogue on how everyone can do their part to keep Samoa beautiful. Issues that were raised with Skyeye Sales Manager Pauli Fetu Leapai-Saili and senior technician Leauanae Tavita Mailei who have been the focal point of contact for MNRE and the service providers.
The use of the SKYEYE Vehicle Tracking system has enabled MNRE to manage, monitor and evaluate the performance of the ten (10) service providers with ease.
The Service Providers who are contracted to MNRE have also found the Skyeye Vehicle Tracking very useful in ensuring their staff are promptly conducting waste collection from the appointed routes and locations nationwide.
Furthermore, the Skyeye inbuilt addressing system has enabled accuracy of zone servicing that has improved efficiency in service delivery (therefore reducing complaints of non-service) and saved contractors time and money.
It was also pointed out that one of the welcomed difference that Skyeye Vehicle Tracking has brought to the table is that it has enabled MNRE and contractors to address grievances promptly and therefore building greater trust and rapport with their stakeholders.
