The local taxi service industry is being propelled into the modern age of electronic communications with the official launching this week of the MAUA TAXI APP.
What it does is to basically set up direct electronic links and monitoring of taxi movements in response to the call for service.
Local electronic firm SKYEYE Pacific launched this first ever electronically controlled link in Samoa at its Lotopa head office on Thursday 10 Oct. 2024.
The taxi APP. is loaded onto cellphones for all who want to access the convenience of quick, reliable service through the link, including taxi stands.
The Land Transport Authority, LTA, and the Samoa Tourism Authority are in full support of the benefits from the App. to their special areas of coverage.
SKYEYE Pacific CEO, Fa’aso’otauloa Sam Saili II, announced the App. as the first ever in Samoa and is confident it is also the first in the Pacific Island region as well.
“The MAUA TAXI APP. took 5 years to develop with the support of those involved in the industry,” Fa’aso’otauloa explained at the launching.
He went on to detail a wide range of advantages available to the APP. users including directions, tracking, safety, travel distances and more.
