The $75,000 air ambulance costs are met under the Government health evacuation programme.
Allowances close to NZD$6,000 are covered by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour for food and accommodations in Auckland.
Leatinu’u took over recently as acting PM in the absence overseas of the head of Government, PM Fiame Naomi Mata’afa.
He was assigned the Cabinet portfolios of Minister of Labour and Industries shortly after the new Government was sworn after the 2021 general elections.
