5 YEAR LEADERSHIP : PM Laaulialemalietoa Polataivao Fosi Schmidt sworn in as new PM for Samoa.

Newly sworn in Prime Minister, Laaulialemalietoa Polataivao Fosi Schmidt, has taken over the political leadership of Samoa.
The leader of the ruling Fa’atuatua Ile Atua Ua Tasi Samoa party took office officially at a swearing in ceremony at the Faleata Gymnasium this morning.
His Highness the Head of State, Tuimaleali’ifano Va’aleto’a Sualauvi II swore in the new PM, before a large crowd of invited dignitaries.
The neighbouring American Samoa Governor ,Pula’ali’i Nikolao Iuli Tuiteleleapaga Pula and his delegation attended.
PM Laaulialemalietoa called on the need for unity in Samoa in an appeal to resolve the divisions that has plague the local landscape since FAST came onto the political scene.
His announced Cabinet comprised two deputy Prime Ministers, a first for Samoa.
A host of newcomers into the political scene were allocated portfolios as well.
