The Supreme Court is holding a special morning sitting on Thursday 8 October 2020 to farewell the late Justice Vaepule Vaemoa Alo Vaai.
The member of the local Judiciary died after a long terminal illness in New Zealand last week.
Justice Vui Clarence Nelson will pay tribute on behalf of the judges of the court to the departed member of the bench and offer condolences as well to the family.
The Attorney General and the President of the Law Society are also to speak on the occasion.
The last time a special sitting of the Supreme Court was held was to farewell retired Chief of Justice Patu Falefatu Sapolu in April 2019 .
The Court sitting on Thursday will be streamed live for family members, former Judiciary colleagues and friends of the late Justice Vaepule to share the moment from outside Samoa.
Justice Vaepule died at 67 years old and is survived by his wife Letuimanu’asina Dr. Emma Kruse Vaai and children.
