The bitter taste of hostile reaction to Human Rights Protection Party HRPP motorcade political rally was wiped out by several villages who came out in numbers to show love and support to the visitors.
Many were standing on the roadside waving flags of Samoa and banners and calling out the party’s name as the procession of cars passed through their villages.
Others showed their support by giving food and monetary donations to the party.
Supporters from the HRPP electoral stronghold at Satupaitea brought food to the HRPP Savaiian Hotel camp at Lalomalava and a donation of $2000 to help out in the cost of petrol.
They paid tribute to the leadership of Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi which has resulted in many benefits to the country as well as major developments.
The village of Pu’apu’a another HRPP stronghold reaffirmed their support to the HRPP and praised the leader of the HRPP for keeping his composure despite the onslaught of stabbing criticisms during his time at the helm of the country.
“ God’s calling for you and the party is a blessing,” village spokesperson Peseta Leapuna said.
“ We acknowledge the depth of your wisdom and vision. We wish you all the best.”
Pua’pu’a village was among the many villages waiting to receive and welcome the HRPP members and supporters in motorcade but this was not possible because of the lack of time and change of time. So they decided to make their presentation at Lalomalava.
Villages in the Itu Tane and other parts of Savaii which support the HRPP were reportedly also waiting to welcome the party members, the leader and supporters but due to safety reasons the rally was cut short turning around at Patamea village and returning to the Savaiian Hotel before boarding the ferry back to Apia.
