Government’s Human Rights Protection Party, HRPP, officially hit the campaign trail today with the launching of its 2021 election manifesto at Petesa Headquarters, Sogi.
The Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi spoke extensively on the path of developments Government took since it came into power and the notable achievements.
He continued into the current challenges that remains to be met and the hopes Government plans to strive for in the future.
The launching programme lasted close to three hours and it ended with the official introduction of the party’s election candidates.
The HRPP candidates almost double the number of entries the three other political parties put together.
The huge turnout of election candidates and their supporters packed out the building, the crowd spilled into an outside tent and into the tree shades.
Cars were packed on the roadside out to the Mulinu’u Peninsula on both sides for about a mile.
By mid-afternoon many of the party members were on their way to the Mulifanua Wharf to catch the boat Savaii.
The HRPP is launching the party election manifesto tomorrow, Friday 19 March 2021 on the big island.
The thrust of the Government’s election rallying call is on the extent and success of the many national developments they have achieved over their tenure.
“Tautala Galuega’ or ‘Work Speaks’ is the battle cry the HRPP will be driving home in the last two remaining weeks before the country goes to the polls to elect a new Government.
Strong leadership is also a key part of the election campaign package.
The high level of recognition and respect of Samoa by the international community are highlighted as well as the trust by donor partners readily assisting with the country’s developments.
